Supporting a loved one in recovery
Watching someone you love struggle is one of the hardest things. Here are some of the most important things you can do for both of you.
- Listen without judgment, even when it’s hard
- Take care of your own mental and physical health
- Set boundaries that protect your wellbeing
- Learn about addiction as a medical condition
- Stay involved without taking over their recovery
- Lean on your own support system
What to expect during their stay
Staying connected
Communication during a stay is limited, but intentional. Scheduled phone calls are available, and we’ll coordinate any urgent updates with you directly.
Visits may be arranged depending on the patient’s care plan and progress. Our team will walk you through what’s possible and when.
How to stay involved
Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation, and neither does healing as a family. We offer family education sessions, planning calls with our team, and resources you can use throughout your loved one’s stay.
After discharge, we provide aftercare planning and resources to help you both move forward together.
